    It left me very puzzled. Compared to the Golden Compass series this seems quite light. Just three children on a canoe surviving the flood. Nothing special. I would not buy it again.
  • Beautifully familiar

    The new friends and foe were so wonderfully intertwined in with those we are already familiar with, it felt like going home as we battled along with the beautiful little canoe and it’s occupants. My heart was pounding as we battled through the horrors to find Lyra's father, I’m totally hooked and will now be pacing up and down until the second book is available. Brilliant.

    This book is amazing and I read it to my 16 year old girl. She said it could use a bit more work but she is working to be a book checker person or a psychologist. I can say I have I have never read such a perfect book in my life.
