    Great idea and well written, loved the sliding doors approach. Not an easy read, pretty much depressing for most of it, but it was never going to be uplifting due to the nature of the story. If I had a criticism....l couldn’t quite get to grips with the character of Reuben, depicted as good and principled etc but actually came across as pretentious, judgemental and arrogant to me. But loved that the characters were all so flawed and real, maybe even unlikeable.
