    Wow! Never have I ever read a book that still haunts me months after I've finished it! I get through 2-3 books a week and this one I just cannot get out of my head. Lesley Pearce has outdone herself in this one. I recommend it to everyone I know who's an avid reader like myself. Amazing!!

    The first Lesley Pearse I have read and now I am hooked. A beautifully written book that has become a favourite. The research that went into writing this book is outstanding, making it not just an amazing life story of the main character but also an informative historical novel. Loved it!

    Like all of Lesley Pearce books this one is very well written with amazing, extensive research having been carried out. A captivating read with twists and plots you really don't see coming! The book had me laughing and crying and I really felt part of the Story at times. The only fault I found was near the end there were a lot of characters and I sometimes struggled to remember who was who. I think this was because I don't have a lot of spare time to read so sometimes I go a few days without reading and I lose my way a little. I would also recommend my favourite - 'Charity' and my second favourite 'Belle' followed by its sequel 'The Promise' I'm looking forward to choosing my next Lesley Pearce novel to read.

    This my favourite book of all time. I have the urge to read it about once a year (sometimes more!!). The characters are so well written they feel like family and the story touches my heart (and makes me cry) every time I read it.

    This book, hands down is the most amazing book I have ever read. Lesley pearse's style of writing is to be admired in this novel, she draws u in so that you feel as if u r actually der, so much so that I cried for most parts of the book. Highly recommended, must read. You wnt regret buying it
