    I really enjoyed reading the stand, the premise is fascinating and the central characters are given plenty of space and time to establish themselves as people I could care about or as people who were interesting enough to want to follow through the story. The book is very long, I read the extended version on iPad mini it said it had over 4000 pages and I do not like horror stories but this though it does contain some episodes of horror mostly is a very entertaining story. And the length is not really a problem as the story is so good and well told A very good and worthwhile read

    This is truly an amazing read, I recommend it to everyone. I never usually read this genre, but still found myself thoroughly entertained throughout. However a word of warning, it says it's only 300 pages and no, haha, it's actually 3000+ on the IPhone, the printed edition (paper) is 1,500, it is a very long book but interesting throughout

    A word of warning - my hard copy 2007 edition is over a thousand pages long so I suspect this may have been heavily edited to make 300 pages. Can anyone confirm or deny?

    This is my all time favourite book by Stephen King. The review dates it as 2008 but I read it in paperback 20 years ago, now, having it as an e-book is brilliant!!!
