    This is perhaps the single most informative and help books I’ve ever read. I’ve been through a couple other programs before. Exspensive programs that are less in depths with citations and references and claims backed by various scientific studies. From terminology up the workout plan itself, every single question is answered in this book. I wish I had found this sooner!

    This is a decently written and well presented book, but, the content is truly way off target. Many reviewers will leave gushing reviews with the same hopeful passion they have when signing up for a gym in early Jan. By the time reality bites, i.e. by the time the programs have to be implemented, the smiles will be gone. The average buyer won't do well on the routines suggested in it, and as another reviewer pointed out, it's pure broscience (or specifically, brosplits). Supplement advice is part of the game, but again it feels like there's too much emphasis on it. This book is essentially a compendium of magazine articles and Youtube videos, presented better than them, but still with ideas that don't get beyond theory. Money would be better spent on other books, or even just a few coffees to sip while you browse some of the more intelligent Youtube fitness channels out there.

  • Informative and thorough yet easy to digest

    Been training for 3 years now with not much direction, picking up most of the exercises from what I've seen in the gym and reading conflicting nutrition advice online. Bigger, leaner, stronger has given me a fresh motivation in the gym and with the advice given in this book, I've managed to see signs of progression (especially in strength) within the first month! Excited about what is to come and have also bought 'the shredded chef' to help out with my nutrition when my meal creativity dries up. Excellent read all round!!! Well done mark, keep up the good work!

    Clear, unpatronising and thorough book about simple and effective training principles. Everything from training and nutrition, to how to find a good 'workout buddy' is covered in BLS, and explained in a concise and easy-to-follow way. I've been training for a few years, but I've switched to the BLS workout since finishing the book a couple of weeks ago, and I'm already seeing good strength gains.

    The book is ok and the workouts do help you to get results, however the way it's been written is really frustrating (it doesn't get to the point). It feels like a lot of jabbering on.
