  • Great Read, hard to put down

    Just read this whilst on holiday. Was the first Ben Elton book i have read and will certainly read more of his work. Excellent writing, really difficult to put down. Despite the horror of the story and of the things that happened during that time in history it is one of those books that you miss when you finish reading.

    Such a fantastic read. It gives you a real insight in to what life was life in nazi germany. It keeps you guessing the whole way through as to what's going to happen. Definitely recommend this!

    This is by far one of the best books I have read in the last couple of years. Took it on holiday with me, and found it a real page turner. Well thought out characters and a thought provoking subject and story line make this an unmissable read.

    If you're a modern history enthusiast you'll love this book. Although this is fiction, it accurately tells the many struggles of Berlin's people through the eyes of four intriguing characters. If you liked 'Alone in Berlin' H. Fallada or 'Stasiland' by the Australian A. Funda you'll also not be able to put this one down. You'll not be disappointed with the twists and turns this book has to offer. I struggled with trying to pace myself a difficult book to try and put down.

    This is the first book by Ben Elton that I have read. This stands among one of the best books I have read, easy to pick up and very immersing. Although fictional it's easy to believe that these atrocities most likely happened and we have to keep reminding the world they can never happen again. A brilliant book.
