    This book is an enjoyable easy read and the writing improves continuously. The descriptions of France are extremely vivid. Have now read the second in the series and will be continuing.

  • Worthwhile read but with caveats.

    An engaging read on a few levels. The plot twist is unfortunately obvious, and the product-placement sentences are just downright irritating. For example, when his initially unwanted 'assistant' makes an appearance, one of their first questions is about which search engine he uses....all so they can drop a name in there. Just bilious. There are a few other irritations like that but for the most part scenes are well enough set that the story comes to life.
